“Whose history in the textbook? On teaching history at school”

“Whose history in the textbook? On teaching history at school”

We warmly invite you to the debate: “Whose history in the textbook? On teaching history at school”

How can we teach history in classrooms where students with migration experience – including those from outside Europe – are present? How should we talk about Poland and Europe so that lessons become spaces for dialogue and the meeting of different perspectives? How can we address the fact that the history textbooks students used in their home countries may cover different topics than those included in the Polish core curriculum?

We will reflect on these and other questions during a debate with philosophy and history teachers who work in multicultural classrooms and wish to share their experiences as well as didactic proposals.

Date: October 14, 2025, 6:00 p.m.
Format: online
The debate will be interpreted into Polish Sign Language. Please note: the discussion will be conducted only in Polish.
Participation is free, registration required: https://forms.gle/CgHcPYhsLHurcGEV6
